Detects the presence of cells in blood or bone marrow of cells containing the t(9;22) BCR/ABL major and minor translocations (Philadelphia Chromosome) associated with CML, AML and ALL. Sensitivity: 1 in 105 transcripts. This technique can be used to quantitatively monitor minimal residual disease.

Please Note: RNA is extremely labile and subject to degradation, therefore, delay in shipping may compromise RNA viability and results. Paraffin-embedded tissue is not acceptable for this test. For optimal results, fresh specimens should be shipped to Genzyme on the day of collection.

Peripheral Blood:
- 5-7 ml in EDTA (lavender-top) or ACD-A (yellow-top) tube.
- Refrigerate specimen. Use cold pack for transport. Be sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen during transport.

Bone Marrow Aspirate:
- 2-3 ml aseptically aspirated in EDTA (lavender-top) or ACD-A (yellow-top) tube.
- Refrigerate specimen. Use cold pack for transport. Be sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen during transport.
