Used in conjunction with standard diagnostic procedures to aid in the initial diagnosis of bladder cancer in patients with hematuria and to monitor for tumor recurrence in patients previously diagnosed with bladder cancer. UroVysion FISH detects aneuploidy for chromosomes 3, 7, 17 and loss of the 9p21 locus in cells from a patient’s urine. Presence of these abnormalities suggests that the cells are cancerous and that bladder cancer is present.
