Genzyme Genetics Signs Multi-Year Renewal Agreement with CIGNA HealthCare

WESTBOROUGH, Mass – Genzyme Genetics, a business unit of Genzyme Corporation, announced today that it has signed a new multi-year ancillary services agreement with CIGNA HealthCare for Genzyme’s full suite of oncology and reproductive diagnostic and predictive testing and consultative services, as well as reproductive genetic counseling—all now available to CIGNA members nationwide and in Puerto Rico. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Additionally, Genzyme Genetics will no longer be contractually restricted from marketing itself as a fully participating, in-network provider to CIGNA HealthCare for all services in all major markets.

Through our agreement, we will continue to provide services as one of the country’s largest and most innovative laboratories for reproductive and oncology testing,” said Jon Hart, senior vice president and general manager, Genzyme Genetics. “In addition, we will provide access to over 150 board-certified genetic professionals and pathologists for consultation on difficult cases to CIGNA providers and members throughout the United States.”
